SS-2683 - Sous/Junior Sous Chef for 2AA rosette Country Dining Pub of the Year!
Juice Hospitality are looking for an experienced Sous/Junior Sous Chef to come on board as the number two to the award winning Head Chef. This is a 'hands-on' Sous role, so the 5 days you are working, you will be running your own section (2 days of which would be leading the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef). This would suit an ambitious person looking to step up to their first sous/junior sous role.
Our stunning 2 AA rosette client has their own kitchen garden where they grow their own vegetables, salads and herbs. They are in a country location so game is a big feature on their menu, with lots of local shoots providing them with pheasant and partridge in the feather. They also have deer shot locally for them which is delivered in the fur as an whole animal so butchery skills would be advantageous.
They currently have 2 AA rosettes, have been in the Good Food Guide for 5 years, and were the Good Pub Guides 'County Dining Pub of the Year' for 2017. They are also recommended in the Michelin guide. Obviously they are a very ambitious team and are looking for further accolades.
The right candidate would ideally be someone ambitious, full of ideas and creativity, competent in all sections, a team player and calm under pressure.
Salary is between £22,000-£25,000 depending on experience with excellent tips. Live in staff accommodation is available, and they are situated in a triangle location in between Oxford/Swindon/Newbury. They are a country pub in an isolated location with no bus service from the village, so the right candidate would need to be able to drive/own their own car so that they can get out and about easily.
